JERSEYS 4 JOZI.

Our social development NPO and PBO.

Jerseys4Jozi was established in 2013 with the goal of helping the homeless stay warm over winter. We do this by distributing high quality, warm hoodies to those who need them most.

It all began with these jerseys, which are a way of building pride, and spreading warmth. But Jerseys4Jozi emerged from the winter of 2013 with a deeper, stronger purpose.

A far more compelling cause was borne out of this simple and effective idea, and that is sustainable improvement.  We realised that dignity wasn’t a gift that could be given; it had to be lasting, self-assured and deeply felt.

After all, it wasn’t just about giving homeless people something to smile about, but rather offering them a path back to the community, and a chance to become more than just a statistic.

Over the years, we have facilitated the upliftment of homeless individuals in and around Joburg through various partnerships for skills development programmes, mentorship and guidance, and job placement.

Ours has not been a lone mission.  We have received overwhelming support from our corporate partners, sponsors, and of course, the public who opened their hearts and helped us to not only make our winter jersey campaign a success, but to reach further than we could ever have hoped.

Now, more than ever, we need the support of all of Jozi and beyond. We operate throughout the year and continue to tackle unemployment and homelessness in Johannesburg.  For us, it isn’t about quick fixes, but rather about focusing on creating lasting relationships that bring about opportunities to give individuals a real chance at a better life.

Be the change you want to see. Get involved today, because every bit helps.
